Natural Strategies for Cellulite Removal

by Doreen Clay

While a benign condition, the presence of cellulite is hardly welcome. If left untreated, cellulite remains an unsightly blemish on the skin. However, it can be treated although some of the more common methods are not exactly met with open arms. Specifically, this is because surgery is one of the common methods and many people would prefer to avoid such an invasive procedure. Then, there are those who are averse to using any product that may be dubbed unnatural or chemical. But, is they any natural way to treat cellulite? Yes, natural treatments for cellulite removal do, in fact, exist.

Without a doubt, the most common natural methods for cellulite removal center on diet and exercise. This is because cellulite is a mass collection of fat deposits. Hence, if you burn up your excess calories, you will experience pronounced cellulite removal. Since diet and exercise is a broad generalization, let’s narrow down what it encompasses.

Exercise is split into two spheres: progressive resistance exercises and cardio work.

Resistance means working with weights, or using machines, or elasticized bands to create resistance for your muscles. When you perform resistance exercises you are stressing your muscles to work harder and this helps build muscle mass. The more lean muscle mass you have the more calories are required to sustain them. This added muscle also supports your exterior skin and reduces the appearance of cellulite. We are not talking about extremely heavy weights, just light to moderate weights. While twice a week workouts will help your battle with cellulite removal, 3-5 times a week resistance exercise programs will show even more drastic improvement in the reduction of your cellulite.

It is important to mention that you should always work with weights in a manner that lets you exercise your entire body. You may want to do more exercise reps or use slightly heavier weights when you are trying to target the body part with the cellulite(such as the glutes or thighs) but do not neglect to work out all body parts which will help you create a well balanced, and toned physique.

The way cardio exercise works as a tool for cellulite removal is quite simple. The more energy you expend, the more calories you will burn. Energy can be expended in a variety of ways including walking, jogging, playing sports, and bicycling. This means your cellulite deposits will become a thing of the past. However, a little more effort will be needed here than with lifting weights. Namely, you will need to perform the exercises for a minimum of 20 minutes per session and for at least 4 days a week to achieve any noticeable results. However, it is not necessary to overdo it with high intensity cardio work. Low impact cardio work can have a very positive effect as well.

Proper diet and dieting is also critical to being able to successfully remove cellulite. Now, when the word ‘diet’ is used people will associate it with starvation. This is not what a proper diet is about. Instead, it is about eating a balanced diet high in fiber and antioxidants. It is also about eating less than you need. Both of these strategies will aid in the gradual reduction of fat from the body. This, of course, expedites the process of cellulite removal.

Cellulite removal is possible using a well designed program of diet and exercise that is balanced and healthy. This is not a quick fix, but it will get you better and longer lasting results than resorting to surgeries or dangerous drugs. If you are serious about banishing cellulite from your life it should begin with better eating and exercise routines.
